Free Stock screeners for technical analysis.

I've already posted article listing the most popular screeners and scans for fundamental analysis. All of them are free to use and are web based.

Today I provide collection of screeners for technical analyzing. I'll try to highlight mainly differences among them which will give you better understating which tool is the right for you.

1. StockCharts - It is perhaps one of the most popular. You can find chart analysis on many sites and blogs made by this tool. It provides predefined scans for technical indicators with the number of stocks (for respective exchange) fulfilling the criteria.

In addition to indicators it shows also candlestick technical patterns. The scope of StockChart are major US and Canadian stock markets.

2. ChartFilter - Here the scope is the same as for StockCharts but extended by London Stock Exchange. What I like about ChartFilter is combination of technical and fundamental screening. You can run your customized scan with parameters from technical analysis together with specific fundamental value.
Unfortunately it is missing technical stock patterns.

3. StockFetcher - Very well organized pre-built scans and also backtesting tool. Indicators have time scale. Especially I like following 45, 60, 90 days channels with stocks at bottom, top or sloping up or down. Big disadvantages is that in free version you have very limited offer. Scans usually display only 5 stocks matching your criteria.

4. INO screener - Another very useful tool for analyzing your selected stocks. This is not typical screener but analyzer of your stocks. You simply type your stock quote and your will receive trend analysis. Good thing about this tool is that it is completely free and you can analyze as much tickers as you wish.

If you have any suggestion about technical screener please drop me message or comment this post and I will list any good link at left sidebar section called "Technical analysis".

Not sure if its temporary, but chartfilter site says "all tools will be down until further notice"
Any ideas why?
BTW, thanks for the excellent blog, I have been following it for some time now and learning a lot from you.

An awesome and relatively new free screener is http://finviz.com. A wealth of free stock and market info. News, insider activity, chart patterns, and faster than anything I've seen...

Thank you Jamez for tip. Finviz is already at left sidebar as a screener for insider trading.
