As many other blogs StockWeb receives most of the visitors via search engine results. And it is not surprising that here major referrer is Google. Actually traffic from other engines like Yahoo, MSN or AOL never exceed 10 visitors per day. If anyone knows how to get more attention from I will be glad for any advice.
In order to get more traffic from search engines you should choose proper keywords to target audience. Many bloggers use tools which are showing how popular respective keywords are. My blog is investing and finance related. In this area it is very easy to predict popularity for keywords even without any tool. If stock markets are reaching high people are searching "top growing stocks". If there is a commodity boom everyone search "invest to oil" or "invest to gold".
Let me share with you my top keywords from the beginning of the year. January and February there were many concerns about credit crisis and financial sectors and my winning keywords were "total writedowns" and "financial writedowns". Later on with falling stock markets I had been receiving many visitors through "short ETF" or "leveraged ETF". During summer commodities attracted a lot of attention and my winning keywords were "How to invest in oil" and "How to invest in gold".
With this post I just wanted to say that if you are finance blogger you don't have to care about keywords. If you are writing up to date articles people will find you because this is exactly what they are searching for.
The best investments for year 2010

I forgot to mention there are some keywords which perform well for me. No matter if markets if markets are going up or down. Among these is for example "high dividend stocks".

Wow, thanks for sharing your keywords. I am also a finance blogger. Maybe you may want for a link exchange?
Your blog keeps getting better and better! Your older articles are not as good as newer ones you have a lot more creativity and originality now keep it up!
I inclination not acquiesce in on it. I over warm-hearted post. Particularly the designation attracted me to read the unscathed story.
